Dr. Darharta Dahrin, M.S.

 

Bio

Born in Payakumbuh and spent all my school years in West Sumatra than all my university education had been carried out in Bandung (Indonesia) and Paris (France).

A  Lecturer at Department of Geology  1985, and Geophysical Engineering  Study Program 1998 to now, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). Responsible for various functions of teaching, research, and services.

 

Education

All my studies are related to Physical Sciences, my undergraduate is in geophysics, meteorology and Oceanography (ITB ,1983), those are early my disciplines, my  Master is in Physics  (ITB,1988) and  DEA is in Geophysics, Geology and Geochemistry (University of Paris Sud, 1989). The Doctor degree was completed at IPG, University of Paris 7,1993.

The courses:

Teach various Geophysical Engineering courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, Adviser of undergraduates students’ projects and master students’ theses, and Co-Adviser of doctoral students.

 

Research

Conduct own research, as well as collaborative ones: Gravity Time-lapse for reservoir monitoring, Paleomagnetics  and magnetic properties of rocks for environment,  paleo-climate, volcanology, etc. Combined methods of geophysics for geodynamics, explorations. hazards mitigation, etc.
