Dr. Andri Dian Nugraha, S.Si., M.Si.

 

Bio

I was born in Ciamis, West Java, Indonesia on September 8, 1978. I have received my Doctor of Science in Seismology from Kyoto University, Japan in March 2009 and then have conducted Postdoctoral researcher in Kyoto University Pioneering Research Unit for the Next Generation. I returned to Indonesia and joined Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia as lecturer in Geophysical Engineering Study Program and as member of Global Geophysics Research Group, Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering in April 2010.  For administration position, I am currently as Head of Geophysical Engineering Study Program since June 2015 and also Head of Volcanology and Geothermal Laboratory, Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering, ITB.

I interested in studying (i) earthquake and volcano seismology, (ii) tomography for regional (subduction zone, active fault) and local scales (volcano, geothermal, oil & gas) and (iii) micro-earthquake monitoring in geothermal exploration, DAM reservoir, oil and gas, CBM and CCS fields. I have advised many students including undergraduate, master and doctor programs.

I am also a professional member of Indonesian Association of Geophysicists (HAGI) as scientific secretary in 2012-2014, and American Geophysical Union (AGU).

I have been awarded (i) young and bright contribution on geophysics HAGI Award 2013 (ii) “Peringkat 1 Akademisi Berprestasi ITB 2015” (iii) “Dosen Berprestasi Bidang Penelitian ITB 2015” and (iv) “Peringkat 3 Dosen Berprestasi Tingkat Nasional 2015

Earthquake and Volcano Seismology, Tomography, and Geodynamics. Current research: seismic imaging of subsurface structure including subduction zone, inland fault, volcanoes, crosshole tomography, geothermal, oil & gas exploration fields, and also micro-earthquake monitoring in the geothermal field, oil & gas field, coal-bed methane (CBM), carbon capture storage (CCS) and DAM reservoir.
